		<description>I think I&#039;ve built this comment up too much, now ;)

ANYWAY, all I was going to say was that I think it&#039;s worth marketing certain minorities. I know several people who will pick up queer novels even if they&#039;re outside their usual genre and I&#039;d personally grab a book with at least one queer character over a book &lt;i&gt;without&lt;/i&gt; any, provided that they&#039;re equal on all other counts. 

I also think there are a lot of people (usually white) who intentionally seek out books with protagonists who are &lt;I&gt;not&lt;/i&gt; white. So there&#039;s probably worth in marketing towards those folk as well, provided it doesn&#039;t make you want to hit things too much ;)

For me, however, it generally comes down to laziness. I love it when I pick up a book and it ends up actually involving characters from diverse backgrounds, but most of the time I end up reading the same old same old and just bitching about it a little when I&#039;m in a particularly feminist/pissed-off-queer kind of mood :D</description>
