As I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m between worlds right now. I’ve obviously quit the Qverse worlds of Harmonica + Gig, as well as Singh’s post-apocalyptic. I’m still playing a little in Clockworld (Clockworld is fun!) but I’ve sort of quit Mizzenmast and Ave Pasifika. Which is awful because those two worlds – particularly Ave Pasifika – are so incredibly over-developed that I could map out not only the multiple cities but also the political systems and family lineages.
Zeem has a novel in him so I’m keeping him around, but, yeah. I’m very much between worlds, and Brazza City (steampunk, West Africa, 1800s) isn’t yet a real world – I’m still exploring it.
I also don’t have any characters I’m in love with right now. I’m toying with two Europeans in Brazza: Benoir and Morality, both of whom are French (although Morality really, really wants to be Indian) who have fallen on hard times after the Revolution.
Sure there are other characters from the novel my husband and I are co-writing, but none that are exclusively mine.
It makes me less driven to write if I don’t have these people to write with (or write for, I’m never sure). Gah. Inspiration, please find me.
